Insurance - important notice

Information you should know

Insurer - Your personal travel insurance is underwritten by Elvia Travel Insurance International N.V. (Netherlands) and administered in the United Kingdom by Mondial Assistance (UK) Ltd. Your Motor Breakdown Cover is arranged by the Automobile Association and underwritten by Saga Insurance Company Limited.

Policy Wording - you should read the document carefully. It gives you full details of what is and what is not covered and the conditions of the cover. Cover will vary from policy to policy and insurer to insurer.

Health - your policy contains restrictions regarding pre-existing medical problems concerning the health of the people travelling and of other people upon whose health the trip may depend.

Telling us about relevant facts - Before you travel you must tell us about anything that may affect your cover. If you are not sure whether something is relevant, you must tell us anyway. You should keep a record of any extra information you give us. If you do not tell us about something that may be relevant, your cover may be refused and we may not cover any related claims.

Conditions, exclusions and exceptions - some conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and exceptions will apply to the whole of your policy.

Hazardous activity - if you are going to take part in activities where there is a high risk of injury, check that your policy covers you.

Property claims - these claims are based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a "new-for-old" or replacement-cost basis.

Policy limits - most sections of your policy have limits on the amount we will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example, for any one item, pair or set or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you.

Policy excesses - under certain sections of the policy, claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The excess applies for each person insured for each section for each incident.

Reasonable care - you need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property and the insured vehicle.

Complaints - your insurance policy includes a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.

Cancellation rights - If your cover does not meet your requirements, please notify us within 14 days of receiving your booking confirmation or policy schedule number issued by Eurotunnel and return all your documents for a refund of your premium. You can contact Eurotunnel regarding your travel insurance or motor breakdown cover by phoning 08705 35 35 35. If during this 14 day period you have travelled, made a claim or intend to make a claim then we are entitled to recover all costs that you have used for those services. Please note that your cancellation rights are no longer valid after this initial 14 day period.

The law governing your policy is shown in the policy wording.
